Summary: The theme of the team challenge was molecular gastronomy, which saw the contestants use unfamiliar techniques to create a three course meal. Chefs Brent Savage and Ryan Squires were mentors. The red team's theme was the beach and the blue team's was carnival. The judges didn’t think the blue team’s scallop entrée reflected their theme but loved their popcorn ice cream dessert. The red team’s kingfish main course was a hit and they won the challenge.
