Summary: Zac Efron(Troy Bolton) and Vanessa Anne Hudgens (Gabriella Montez) audition for a school musical.Troy is an All-Star b-ball player as for Gabriella is in the Scholastic Decathlon.They meet on New Years Eve at a party. They end up going to the same school and Sharpey(Ashley Tisdale) is jealous when Troy and Gabriella audition because they are actually good.At the end Troy's team can't believe he is a singer.So they start confessing their interests too. Then when competition comes for the musical Gabriella is nervous but Troy can always calm her down and they win.
